Selling things online is a big business. I forgot the exact number of how many billions of dollars worth of purchases were made online last year, but its something around 40 billion USD.

US$ 40 billion used to be a lot until the recent banking system meltdown demonstrated how little that actually is. The US government alone approved that gigantic US$ 700 billion "loan" while their European counterparts will not be far behind by the time this panic driven rescuing is done with.
