Velocite LICOS ultra light handlebars

Velocite LICOS full carbon handlebars - minimum paint, minimum weight, maximum performance.

The weight is  176g +/- 5g across all sizes. This weight is measured and verified among several samples, it is  not a marketing claim. The bars are also EN and impact tested, and are very stiff. In fact, some riders that are more familiar with more usual carbon fiber handlebars may find the Velocite LICOS too stiff.

They do flex, but you need to really tug at them while in the drops to actually feel it…while stationary.

The secret of Velocite LICOS amazing performance  is again the same as what we do for all of our other products – we choose to pay more for better quality materials and higher tech manufacturing methods. LICOS handlebars are made from ultra high modulus carbon fiber using a novel monocoque, one piece carbon tube forming process that does not use bladders.

We did not choose to save weight using the usual method of reducing the tube profiles. The Velocite LICOS has a 31.8mm center bar bore, but that is not the end of it. The oversize profile extends all the way to the drops. This helps account for the exceptional strength and stiffness. It also allows the use of some clip-on aero extensions.
 

Its user friendly features continue with internal cable routing tunnels,  friction treated stem and shifter clamp sections, a small thumb depression and finger grooves for maximum comfort on the flats, and a flat palm section to increase the comfort while in the hoods.
 

The last, but very significant feature of Velocite LICOS handlebars is the geometry. This is a modern compact bar with short reach and shallow drops. This will allow you to spend more time in the drops in a better aerodynamic position compared to the standard geometry bars. In fact with Velocite LICOS you may find that you are as comfortable in the drops as on the hoods.

NOTE: drops are not horizontal, so the drop measurement is “virtual” – taking a measurement along a vertical line, perpendicular with the horizontal plane of the handlebars. Maximum drop is 15cm.
